Art
Art is a hobby of mine that I take great enjoyment in. I have been honing my craft for more than a decade and have developed the skills to be able to draw in multiple different 'styles' (such as a lined style, digital painting, pixel art and lineless art).
For digital art, my program of choice is 'Fire Alpaca', however, I occasionally use other software as the skills are transferrable.
Game Art
These are some art assets which have been created for games which I have worked on.
EchoRush
EchoRush is a game that I worked on with two other students at University as a second-year Assignment. I was the main art-lead for this game and handled art direction as well as the creation of most sprites and tiles. (And some programming.)
We won multiple awards for this game.
Tank Blitz
Tank Blitz is a game that I created with three friends for a two-and-a-half-week-long Game Jam (the 'Bigmode Game Jam').
I had fun drawing the sprites with 'lined art' rather than using pixel art.
For the player character's animations, I used an asset pack to assist me. All other animations in the game were hand-drawn.
Nothing Shady at THIS BBQ!
Nothing Shady at THIS BBQ! is a game that I created with three friends for a four-day Game Jam run by a club at our University.
We placed second in the Jam.
I did a majority of the sprite work for the game.
All the 'customers' in the game were procedurally generated -their hair and clothes were randomised. This was achieved by splitting the base customer sprites from the different hair and clothing options and choosing them at random when they were spawned into the game.
Concept Art
Concept art is an important part of working on a project. Being able to iterate on ideas cleanly and efficiently is an important and vital skill.
When looking at the game Tank Blitz, that I worked on, concept art was an important step for us to figure out exactly what sort-of game that we wanted to create. Upon deciding what we wanted to do, it made overall game-direction much easier for us.
I used gradient maps to quickly and effeiciently apply colour to the different ideas and try out colour pallete ideas.
Original Characters
I spend a lot of time drawing my Original Characters that I have created over the years.
Fan Art
The following drawings are fan art of different properties and media that I enjoy. Fan art is another way that I am able to experiment with new styles and techniques.
